Joe Johnson of Loris, SC returned and brought Steve Green, Enoch Murphy and Howard Jones to fish 'Catch & Keep". Using the Pumpkin Seed lure, Lizard (Plastic) lure & live minnows, they caught 8 bass and 4 crappie. The Largest bass was caught in Pond 3 at the Walkabout pier. Congrats to Steve Green for the largest catch of the day!
Tina Dreher of Chapin, SC and Anthony Tucker of Winnsboro, SC returned at 7:15 AM to fish 'Catch & Keep". Using live minnows, they caught 15 Crappie and 4 Bass off the Covered Pier at Pond 3. The Crappie were so active, we couldn't keep them still for the photo shoot! An afternoon cookout is planned!
Jerry Goebel of Atlanta, GA and Rusty Vaughan of Raleigh, NC returned to fish "Catch & Release". Here is one of their catch. They love playing 'Who Catches the first Fish' game. Jerry won this time.
Gloria Smith and Randy Atkinson of Hartsville, SC fished 'Catch & Keep" for three hours starting at 4:40 PM. Using a 7 inch green pumpkin lure, they caught these bass from Pond 1 pier.
Doug Scarborough of Florence, SC fished Catch & Keep. He caught 15 bass out of Pond 1 using Green Trick Worm, Red Stick Worm and Chartreuse Tail lures. Congratulatons!
Dominic Stevenson of Orangeburg, SC returns to see if the fish are biting in the hot heat of Summer. The answer is "Yes!". He started fishing at 5:45 PM and fished for 3 hours. Using the Watermelon seed lure & the Weedless Frog lure, he captured two bass from Pond 2, two bass from Pond 3 and three bass from Pond 1. Incidentally, he said that he missed a Big One in Pond 1. (I keep hearing about the Big Ones that get away in Pond 1.... who can get them out???) Congratulations Dominic for bearing the heat and getting this fine mess of fish!
Clay & Brandt Boykin of Camden, SC joined Michael McCaa & his son, Matthew, of Bethune, SC to fish Catch & Release. Starting at 5:40 pm using Zoom Junebug and Zoom Black Trick Worm lures, they caught these beauties in Pond 1. Clay caught 6 bass, Brandt caught 2 bass, Michael & Matthew caught 5 bass each! They released the bass back into the pond for future fishers.
Ben Mertz of West Columbia, SC, fished 'Catch & Release' 7 AM to 10 AM, using the Zoom Motor Oil Chartreuse lure, he caught these 5 bass out of Pond 2. He said that the Corner Pier with the Fish Feeder on Pond 2 was the most active.
Rusty Vaughan of Raleigh, NC and Jerry Goebel of Atlanta, GA returned to fish 'Catch & Release' Overnight. Rusty caught 5 bass in Pond 2 the first afternoon. Jerry caught 3 bass the next morning in Pond 1 and Rusty caught 7 more bass in Pond 1 that same morning. Rusty said his biggest catch was at Pond 1.

Ginsberg Goodman of Columbia, SC and Robert Johnson of Sumter, SC returned to join in the Fun. New fishers were John Henry Bell of Sumter, SC, Arenda Emanuel Thomas II of Columbia, SC, Nathaniel Brunson of Bishopville, SC, Charles Goodman from Lynchburg, SC, Daniel Rivers, Michael Scarborough & Kendrick O'Neil Goodman of Florence, SC, plus Arenda Emanuel Thomas, Sr and Gerald Price. Starting at 8 AM they fished 'Catch & Keep' until 12 Noon. Weedless Frog lures and plastic worms were they best lures. Pond 1 resulted in the largest bass caught. They caught bass out of all ponds! A Family Outing! Martha & Jason Jennings of Knoxville, TN joined her family & long time PowderKegg Fishers, Ed Woodward of Columbia, SC and his son, Joe Woodward of Texas, to fish from Daybreak until 9:10 AM. Using the Purple Plastic worm lures, they caught these 14 bass out of Pond 1.
Fred Hanna and his son, Fred, Jr. of Columbia, SC, fished 'Catch & Release' from 4:15 PM to 7:15 PM. The caught about 10 bass and Fred Jr. caught his largest bass from Pond 2 using a Zoom Trick Worm Pumpkin Seed lure. Since they released their fish, this big bass is back in Pond 2. They think it weighed over 11 lbs! Congratulations to Fred Jr for his trophy catch!
Tatinesha & Paul Miconi of Columbia, SC returned to take advantage of Overnight Fishing Special. Using the Zoom Pumpkin Seed lures, they pulled 12 bass out of Pond 1. (Reminder. Do not leave your rods unattended. The bass WILL pull them off the dock and way out into the water! ) Fishing can be so much fun! ☺
Starting at 7 AM, two sets of fishers set out to have some fun! These ponds are like a Candyland for Fishers!! One group fished 'Catch & Release' and caught about 25 fish using the Weedless Frog lure. Pond 2 yielded the most bass, although they caught some from both Pond 3 & Pond 1. The other set consisted of Tatinesha & Paul Miconi of Columbia, SC. They fished 'Catch & Keep'. Paul caught the biggest bass of the day. It was 8 lbs 10 oz. Congratulations!

Mike Yarborough of Cassatt, SC returned & brought new fisher, Wayne Rabon of Cassatt, SC to fish 'Catch & Keep' from 1:10 pm to 4:10 pm. It was a Windy Day. They caught 9 bass & 1 crappie, where all but one came out of Pond 3. They used the Tequila Sunrise lure.
Mike Yarborough of Cassatt, SC brought New Fisher, David Lyles of Camden, SC to fish 'Catch & Keep' for 5 hours starting at 9 AM. Using the Tequila Sunrise 7" long lures, they pulled bass out from every pond. Mike caught 15 bass and David caught 17 bass. They had fun!
Larry Gordon of Goose Creek, SC brought Ralph Walters of Goose Creek, SC to fish 'Catch & Keep' for 7 hours. Starting at 12 noon, they used Weedless Frog lures to pull out 14 bass from Pond 3 and 7 bass from Pond 2.

John Denny of Bishopville, SC brought his grandsons Cooper Denny, Hampton Denny of Mt. Pleasant, SC and Jackson Denny of Myrtle Beach, SC to fish 'Catch & Keep' for 3 hours, starting at 9:20 AM. The chose to keep the bass in water to transfer to John's pond in Bishopville. Here they are with some of their 19 catch briefly out of water. The biggest caught was out of Pond 2. The lures used were Sinko Green, plastic crawfish, Sinko Black & Blue. Good fishing was on the far side of Pond 2 and in the lily pads of Pond 3.
Andrew Brunson & Chad Parker of Hartsville, SC, Amber McCaskill and Collins Gardner of Bishopville, SC and Jacob Rogers of Bethune, SC joined together to introduce New Fishers Greg (Dash) Huckabee of Bethune, SC, Jason Byrd & son, Calden, of Hartsville, SC, John Rogers and Bryan Brunson of Hartsville, SC and Bryan Turner of Mauldin, SC to the PowderKegg fishing experience! Clockwise: Dash Huckabee caught 7 bass out of Pond 3 using a weedless Frog & 7" culprit worm bait. Chad Parker, Amber McCaskill & Collins Gardner caught 26 bass... Chad caught his out of Pond 2 & 3 using Floating Worm & weedless Frog lures. Bryan Brunson, Bryan Turner, Calden Byrd, Jason Byrd & Andrew Brunson caught 30 bass. of which young Calden caught 8 of them. They said their best results were out of Pond 2 using Fluke lure & weedless Frog lures. Brothers, Jacob & John Rogers, pulled 15 bass mainly out of Pond 3 using Rapala lures. These folks fished for four hours starting at 3:20 PM and removed a total of 78 bass from the ponds! What a way to celebrate Easter Weekend!
Starting at 9:55 AM, Matt Phillips brought his son Zac to fish 'Catch & Release' for 2 hours. Using Pumpkin Zoom lures, they caught 3 bass in Pond 1, 3 bass in Pond 2 & 2 bass in Pond 3. The biggest were in Pond 2.
Chris Thomas of Cassatt, SC brought his dad, Novack, to fish 'Catch & Keep' from 8:15 AM to 10:15 AM. Using the white Fluke lure and Rapala lures, they caught 21 bass mainly out of Pond 3 about midway on the walkabout pier and off the pier directly across the pond from that pier. A wonderful family activity!
Dominic Stevenson of Orangeburg, SC fished 'Catch & Keep' from 5:40 pm to 7:40 pm. Using the Watermelon Seed trick worm bait, he caught a big bass out of Pond 1 and a big bass out Pond 2. He also caught a total of 7 bass, of which 3 were from Pond 2 and the rest were from Pond 1. Great Catch!
Robert Johnson of Sumter, SC and Levern Epps of Bishopville, SC returned with New Fishers, Ginsberg Goodman of Columbia, SC and Jimmy Lowery of Lynchbury, SC. They fished 'Catch & Keep' from 9:45 AM to 1:45 PM. Using minnows, Levern caught 3 bass out of Pond 1. Using spinner bait, Robert caught 6 bass on the long walkabout pier at Pond 3. Ginsberg said that the ponds skunked him! ☺ Using minnows, Jimmy caught the biggest bass out of Pond 1. Fun Group Fishing!
Chris Thomas of Cassatt, SC, arrived at 9 am (Daylight Savings Time!!) and fished 'Catch & Keep' for 2 hours. Using a Spinner Bait for the first portion of his fishing and then switching over to a Pearl White Fluke bait, he caught 12 bass from Pond 2 and 1 bass from Pond 3. Here he is with his catch and his lures that he used to catch them!
Coming all the way from Conway, SC, this group, headed by Joe Johnson, fished Catch & Keep from Dawn to Dusk using Tequila Sunrise & Pumpkin Seed Zoom Worm bait. Each Pond yield fish! Here they are with their catch... 15 bass and 1 crappie. What a wonderful day!
Collins Gardner of Bishopville, SC returned to bring new fishers Rusty Davis & Ricky Odom of Charleston, SC. They fished from 1 PM to 5 PM. Using the Pumpkin Seed worm & Frog, they caught 7 bass out of Pond 2 near the back peninsula and 12 bass out of Pond 3 on the long walkabout pier. The fish averaged 1.5 to 2 lbs. They decided to keep 8. Here is Gardner with their catch!
Dave Thomas of Cayce, SC fished 'Catch & Release' from 8:30 AM to 1:30 PM. Using Spinner bait, he caught 25 bass in Pond 2 & 21 bass in Pond 3. He also had to confront a snake at the first pier on the right side of Pond 3. So grateful that Dave sends us his pictures! Great Fishing!
Mike Yarborough of Cassatt, SC and David & Jack McCabe of Kershaw, SC fished 'Catch &Keep' from 3 pm to 7 pm. These guys always catch a mess of fish when they come! Using the Watermelon Seed & Tequila Sunrise Zoom Worm bait, they caught 26 bass. What they didn't bring in, impressed them even more. A bass broke Mike's rod at Pond 3. In Pond 2, bass several times broke lines that were 15 lb spider line. David McCabe pulled out the biggest bass of that day was from Pond 1. They said that the best fishing they had was in Pond 2. Great Fun!

Charles Gwynn & his son, Matthew, of Holly Hill, SC braved the winds blowing against them on Saturday at 9:15 AM to take advantage of the February Customer Appreciation Specials. The morning was sunny. Although the day warmed up, the fishing seemed to be still slowed by the cold night. Pond 3 would not yield any fish to them. Using a spinner bait, Charles was able to catch this bass out of Pond 2.
